AFPW- Facility Walk Through & Annotated Chart!

AFPW closed absolutely beautifully on Friday at 0.066. Just as we predicted the chart has been consolidating nicely between 0.06 – 0.07. In fact we haven’t even managed to test our 0.06 support over the past few trading days. Instead it appears our support levels are growing stronger with every passing day, inching closer and closer to the 0.07 level.
Just as we promised, last week our colleague visited AFPW’s facility in Philadelphia to see what was brewing behind the scenes. We were extremely impressed to say the least , at 0.066 we feel AFPW has a lot more room for growth.

AFPW closed slightly down but not to worry, our support held nicely throughout the day. The 20 day simple move average wasn’t even touched like it was yesterday, which we believe to be a bullish sign despite the red close. As long as our support continues to holds we are expecting a consolidation period between 0.06 – 0.07 before the next leg up.
We alerted RVBF a few weeks ago at 0.083, today RVBF closed at 0.149 on some positive news.

AFPW- Shareholder Update and Annotated Chart!

AFPW is still looking bullish despite the dip during trading today. The fundamentals are still strong with AFPW, and were expecting some major updates in the near future. If anything today’s dip was to be expected after all stocks don’t move straight up over night, a strong stock takes time to build. AFPW’s chart still has plenty of up room to move, overall we are still on a bullish uptrend. For the time being we are expecting some consolidation between 0.06 – 0.07, if support holds this will build a nice base for the next leg up. One important thing to note is that before the current updates we had a valuation estimate at 0.40 per share. Since then the company has brought in more value through product advancements and extra exposure with their company in the Hydrogen Market. AFPW is ready for Mass production and so are we! 2010 could turn out to be a great year for AFPW, after all the Government has decided to Reinstate Funding for Hydrogen Energy!! Funding is expected to start early 2010 according to the DOE, AFPW could very well be a candidate, keep your eyes peeled.

AFPW Recent Press Release Highlights:
- AlumiFuel Power Corporation (OTCBB: AFPW), (the “Company”), announced that it is positioned to aggressively move into the commercialization stage in early 2010, as one product is now entering the marketplace and another product is ready for market entry.
- API announced that, with the help of its local manufacturing partner, Apex Piping Systems (see API news release of September 28, 2009), its production line is fully ready for mass production of its hydrogen generators.
- API’s PBIS-1000 relies on the robust chemical reaction among aluminum, water, and proprietary additives. Operation of the generator is simple: two 32-oz. “aluminum can” cartridges containing aluminum powder and the proprietary additives, are loaded into the reactor vessels. Water from practically any source, including salt or brackish water, is poured into the water tank, and a hand pump is then used to inject water into the cartridges, generating 1,000 liters of hydrogen in 20 minutes.
- Unlike expensive electrolysis systems, API’s generator does not need an external power source, and unlike steam reformers, API’s generator creates no greenhouse gases. Furthermore, all the chemicals used in the reaction are non-toxic and can be recycled or discarded in municipal dumps. API’s hydrogen generator is more mobile and considerably less expensive than any other system on the market.
- The PBIS-1000 hydrogen generator is now in production, and delivery of these operational units to customers is expected to begin shortly.
- The weather balloon market is pegged at $150-$200 million per year, and encompasses military as well as civil government meteorological users worldwide. API and its partner, Kaymont Consolidated of Long Island, NY – the world’s largest distributor of weather balloons – have demonstrated pre-production versions of the PBIS-1000 to customers, and the production unit reflects considerable customer feedback. Based on customer reaction, Kaymont and API expect to begin capturing significant market share in 2010, and believe the PBIS-1000 can become the field standard and product of choice. After purchasing PBIS-1000 hydrogen generators, customers will continue to purchase replacement cartridges sufficient for each generator to launch 500-1,000 balloons each year (1,000-2,000 cartridges). This is analogous to the razor/razor blade market dynamic.
- API is in discussions with several major fuel cell companies regarding specific applications. Small, portable fuel cell applications potentially represent an $8 billion annual market as fuel cells replace older technologies such as gensets and batteries. It should be noted that hydrogen provides 4-5 times the energy density (and hence operating time) of lithium batteries.
- API has also completed development of a new generation of flameless heaters – which can heat rations, or fuel personal warmers. (See API news release of December 21, 2009). The most highly visible application in this genre is the Flamelss Ration Heaters (FRH) which heats MREs (Meals-Ready-to Eat) in about 20 minutes. The US Department of Defense (DoD) spends about $36 million annually on these heaters for MREs. Worldwide, this FRH market is about $70 million for military and commercial applications. The incumbent FRH provider to the DoD operates on a sole source basis using a magnesium powder-based mix. After considerable comparative testing in API’s laboratory, it is apparent that API’s AlumiFuel powder-based mix is superior in terms of heat generated per gram and time of heating, and is significantly cheaper. API now has a product ready for this market and is in a dialogue with the cognizant DoD offices to determine the appropriate path for market entry. API also is exploring various options for path-to-market partners to address the larger global market.
- In addition to these market-ready applications, API and a major aerospace partner are continuing to pursue a longer-range, but highly important mission-critical undersea application for the U.S. Navy. Together with a major subsidiary of the world’s second largest aerospace & defense company (a Fortune-50 firm), API is in discussions with U.S. Navy R&D activities regarding appropriate programs to develop a prototype Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) propulsion system using API’s AlumiFuel-water reaction as the source of superheated steam to drive the aerospace firm’s turbines.
- ‘Speculative Buy’ rating with a price target of $0.40.”According to Senior Analyst Robert Goldman
- AFPW is in a Smoking Hot Sector! “alternative energy”
- In July The Company Moved to a Bigger Facility in Philadelphia “About 4 Times The Size of Their Original Location”
The location is not only bigger by “four fold”, the new building is also going under certification as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). This is the highest benchmark for “green” buildings around the world.

They are also located near the University so the location of the center of a high-technology talent pool and advanced nanotechnology materials analysis capabilities, we are ideally situated to grow AFPW’s business base. - Keen customer interest has been majorly increasing from PBS and Department of Defense’s Naval Energy Forum
- Partners with Kaymont Consolidated, which is the world’s largest distributor of weather balloons, a $100 million market.

AlumiFuel Power, Inc. (AFPW) *On Watch*

AFPW closed up 15% today at 0.074 with a hod of 0.085. This company specializes in Alternate Energy specifically hydrogen fuel cells. AlumiFuel Power, Inc. is not the only company to jump on this Hot idea. Volkswagen, Honda, and GM are along for the ride as well! AFPW is defiantly a company to keep your eyes on!
AlumiFuel Power, Inc. (API) is a Philadelphia-based early production stage alternative energy company that generates hydrogen gas and steam for multiple niche applications requiring on-site, on-demand fuel sources. API’s hydrogen drives fuel cells for back-up, portable and remote power, fills inflatable devices such as weather balloons, and can replace costly, hard-to-handle and high pressure K-Cylinders; its steam/hydrogen combination also drives turbine-based underwater propulsion systems and auxiliary power systems. The company has significant differentiators in performance, adaptability, safety and cost-effectiveness in its target market applications, with no external power required and no toxic chemicals or by-products. API’s addressable markets encompass National Security, Homeland Security and commercial customers.
APIs technology is based on the exothermic reaction of aluminum powder and water, combined with proprietary additives which act as catalysts, initiators and reactants. Novel packaging of the aluminum powder and additives into cartridges enables them to be inserted into a generator/reactor, where an infusion of water results in the rapid generation of highly pure hydrogen and steam. The company has a solid IP portfolio, including new patent filings embodying its unique and independent technology, and significant proprietary know-how regarding the practical ability to engineer desired reactions at required scales and rates.
APIs Lab and offices are located in the Philadelphia Science Center in downtown Philadelphia, where it has access to world class testing instruments and technical talent. The company is a member of Drexel Universitys Materials and Nanotechnology Consortium. API has a seasoned management team and an experienced and dedicated technical team, and has close working relationships with major industry players as path-to-market partners such as Hamilton Sundstrand, a major subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE: UTK); these relationships also include commercial fabricators of the companys reactors and cartridge products on an outsourcing basis.

About Hydrogen Fuel Cells in Vehicles
Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles are zero emission and run on compressed hydrogen fed into a fuel cell “stack” that produces electricity to power the vehicle. A fuel cell can be used in combination with an electric motor to drive a vehicle – quietly, powerfully and cleanly.
How It Works
An individual fuel cell consists of two electrodes, one positively charged (cathode) and one negatively charged (anode), with a substance that conducts electricity (electrolyte) sandwiched between them. Oxygen from the air passes over the cathode and hydrogen over the anode, generating electricity and water. The hydrogen fuel for a fuel cell electric vehicle can be supplied in several ways. Most vehicles carry a tank of pure hydrogen. Individual fuel cells must be combined into groups called fuel cell stacks in order to achieve the necessary power required for motor vehicle applications.
Availability
All of the major auto makers are working on fuel cell vehicles. Honda and GM are placing a limited number of these vehicles (100-200) in the hands of real customers, concentrating in the Los Angeles area whereas most other manufacturers are placing their cars in fleets.
Cost
Since fuel cells and hydrogen fueling infrastructure are in the early stages of development, the cost of both the vehicles and the fuel are quite high. However, when fuel cell vehicles hit the showrooms and the fueling infrastructure is in place to meet the demand, the cost of both the fuel and the vehicles will be comparable to their gasoline counterparts.
Incentives
Check out the incentives page for information about incentives.
Fueling
Currently, there are over 25 research, public and private hydrogen fueling stations operating in California with several more in the planning or development stages. Below are some resources for finding fueling stations for hydrogen fuel cell cars:
* California Fuel Cell Partnership: The CaFCP maintains a map of all hydrogen fueling stations planned and in operation in California.
* CleanCarMaps.com: Searchable database of EV chargers and alternative fueling stations in California, including compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum, ethanol (E85), hydrogen and biodiesel.
* U.S. Department of Energy Alternative Fuels Data Center: A site developed by the Department of Energy that provides maps to refueling stations in the US for CNG, LPG/propane, ethanol, electric, biodiesel, hydrogen, and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Performance
Hydrogen fuel cell cars are quiet, very energy efficient, have zero emissions and have equivalent range and performance as their gasoline counterparts.
Benefits
When operating directly with hydrogen, there are no polluting emissions and no greenhouse gases from a fuel cell – only water and heat. If the hydrogen is generated by reforming fossil fuels, some greenhouse gases are released, but much less than the amount produced by conventional vehicles. In addition to these benefits, fuel cells could dramatically reduce urban air pollution, decrease oil imports, reduce the trade deficit and produce American jobs.
The Global Warming Score for fuel cell vehicles reflects the upstream greenhouse gas emissions associated with producting the hydrogen used in these cars. Using the current adjustment factors, fuel cell vehicles have a Global Warming Score of 9. This adjustment factor will be revisited at a later date to reflect the newer state of the technology which may lead to an improved Global Warming Score for these cars.
Hydrogen Production
Hydrogen can be produced from many domestic feed stocks, such as natural gas and renewable resources like water, using electrolysis. While the most common method of making hydrogen, using natural gas reformation, results in fewer smog-forming and greenhouse gas emissions than traditional vehicles, California is working to increase use of renewable production sources.
The Global Warming Score for fuel cell vehicles reflects the upstream greenhouse gas emissions associated with producing the hydrogen used in the vehicles, therefore you may notice that these vehicles receive a Global Warming Score of 9 even though they are zero emission vehicles. These adjustment factors will be revisited at a later date which may lead to an improved Global Warming Score.
Perks & Conveniences
Fuel cell engines offer a combination of the range of conventional combustion engines with low fuel consumption, minimal or no harmful emissions, low noise emissions, and the comfort of an electric vehicle.
Safety
Fuel cell vehicles are being developed with levels of safety, comfort, and cost comparable to those of a conventional vehicles. Like all fuels, hydrogen has energy and needs to be treated with respect. Because hydrogen is lighter than air it disperses very quickly. Manufacturers are committed to building fuel cell vehicles that meet or exceed safety standards.
