What penalties do people have to pay for short selling their house?
With the new $700billion bill getting passed,what happens to the thousands of people foreclosing or short sell?
Didn’t the problem start with foreclosures? So we help the banks now,but won’t we be in the same boat a year from now unless we address “THE REAL PROBLEM” by helping people fix their mortgages
I mean short selling of your house. When you put it on the market and get what you and negotiate without foreclosing.
I mean short selling of your house. When you put it on the market and get what you can for it and negotiate without foreclosing. I too was very hard hearted to people who foreclosed and received loans only to turn around and sell a year or 2 later. But I soon fell ill and was diagnosed with a disease and could not work for months. I too had a hard decision to make about what to do so I advise people to think about why so many people are foreclosing? Is it only because of the people’s adjustable mortgages are going up or could other factors be involved too?
Do people usually short a stock that had a huge jump then repay the shares during the stocks correction?
I can’t see short selling being that easy.
If people have to have their own funds to short sell, then why do they borrow from someone elses portfolio if?
they can afford their own? this makes no sence?
If prices of STOCK generally fall on the date of the ex-date of a dividend why don’t people just short sell?
That day? Since it falls the price of the dividend.
Who lends stocks for people to short sell with?
Short selling is borrowing stocks and selling them, then buying the same amount of that stock back when the price has lowered, then returning the stocks to the borrower and keeping the profit (minus the fee’s)… So… Who are the people that actually lend the stocks out for the fee’s?
What’s all this talk of people going bankrupt on the stock market?
How does this even happen? What? Are these people putting ALL their money in the stock market? I don’t get it. It just doesn’t seem like putting say – $1,000 in would make you go bankrupt. What? Do they come and take all you have when a stock hits bottom?
Why do people try to guess where the bottom of the stock market is?
The U.S. stock market that is…Are the guesses people are making based on emotions or is there actual data that can determine the likelihood that we have hit a bottom? (i doubt the latter is possible, as if we knew we’d all be rich) …but curious, is there a scientific way to know if the market is over or underpriced?
Why do so many people just assume the stock market will eventually recover?
Nobody seems to even think of the possibility that the stock market may never reach the levels they were at before the latest crash. Everywhere I read they say that we will definitely recover and the market will go even higher.
Isn’t there at least a possibility that the economy will never recover to where it once was?
