Start with “Investing For Dummies” which gives a good overview on personal investing. Then, for more detail on stocks, read “Stock Investing For Dummies.” They are excellent starter books.

“The Intelligent Investor” by Benjamin Graham, “Security Analysis” also by Graham. “Common Stocks, Uncommon Profits” by Phillip Fisher. I just got a book from a friend of mine written by hedge fund manager David Einhorn called, “Fooling Some of the People, All of the Time”. There are tons of good books on investing.
